Episode 2.10: Using Your Book to Reverse-Engineer Other Products with Mary Brodie
Mary is a digital experience strategist and founder of Gearmark, helping companies create memorable customer experiences, online and offline, for over 20 years. From apps to content strategy to lead gen programs, she has helped companies achieve results that contribute to the bottom line. But achieving great results takes a great team that works well together. Her work extends into team dynamics and internal processes. She believes that the internal employee experience of a company is just as important as the customer experience it creates. And that experience helps build successful business relationships that contributes to business success. She attended MIT, graduated from Simmons College and IE University in Madrid.
In this episode, Mary shares the origin story of her book, why she enjoyed the entire process of writing and publishing her book, the part of the process she found to be the most difficult, why it’s important to remember your first book doesn’t have to be your last and that you can always release new editions, how she turned her book into a variety of other things like masterclasses and workbooks, why she made the conscious decision to have a separate online presence for her book apart from her business and personal brand, her top tips for those thinking of writing a book for their business, what she’s currently reading, and more.
