One thing you will encounter often during your book writing and publishing process is a contract, and probably more than one. In this Write.Publish.Market. podcast, Jodi is walking you through all the different types of contracts you’ll encounter and what boilerplate language to be on the look out for.

It doesn’t matter if you’re going the traditional publishing route or self-publishing, you’ll still receive contracts from different people you work with. If you’re going down the self-publishing path, you may run into people who don’t have a contract, so you’ll want to push for one. Jodi warns that whoever creates the contract is generally the one that the contract favors. You’ll want to read through it all very carefully to see if you agree with all or some of it. In many cases it is concrete in certain areas, but there may also be room for negotiations.

Listen in to find out what all should be included in the contracts and how you can best prepare to receive them while writing your book!
