Episode 6.10: Draft + Revise Your Book
From Prep To Print Series
Part 2: Draft And Revise
‘Draft and Revise’ is the pre-publication stage where the rubber meets the road. In this phase, you have your head down and doing the work of drafting your book manuscript. Whether that means sitting in front of your computer every morning or speaking to text on your morning walk, on the treadmill, in a car pull line, or at your children's soccer practice, you can do it in smaller chunks at a time to get at the end of the draft. Your first draft is not your final draft. There are other practices that happen in this stage, such as self-editing, getting feedback from your audience and doing diversity and inclusion reading to make your manuscript clean and the process easier.
Join me in the second episode in the series, From Prep To Print, a series of micro-episodes all about the four stages of the author entrepreneur journey. In this episode, I break down the ‘Draft and Revise’ stage to give you insight into what happens in this phase and how you can set yourself up for success. ‘Drafting and revising’ demands more focus, and when done right, it makes the process easier for you, financially advantageous and sets you up for the next phase.
