Episode 5.15: Use Your Book to Prime Your Audience to Work Together with Risa Weaver-Enion

This episode of the Write.Publish.Market Podcast is a fun one! Well, we think they all are actually. Jodi is chatting with Risa Weaver-Enion, a wedding planner in California. Risa realized two key facts about her business that led her to writing a book: she couldn’t serve everyone and she needed a better way to prepare clients in one of her packages. This led her to writing a book that guides couples in every step of the planning process. For couples who can’t work with her directly, they receive her processes, and for those that hire her for her management package also get all the steps to planning their wedding.

This is such a great way to become an expert in your field and give your clients a true roadmap to working with you. Risa’s vendor friends also use it because she covers their parts of the wedding industry too. She shares how her husband helped set up an affiliate program for these vendors and how it all works. This is definitely a different way of priming your audience, but it works and we love it!

They also chat about what else is on the horizon for Risa, and you don’t want to miss that either! Tune in to hear all the details.

Meet our Guest

Risa Weaver-Enion is a Sacramento-based wedding planner. She works with couples who want to have fun and be relaxed on their wedding day, handling all the logistics and details of hosting a large event. The most rewarding thing about being a wedding planner is when her couples tell her at the end of the night, "We couldn't have done this without you." As a former lawyer, Risa can definitively say that it's way more fun helping couples plan their wedding than it is filing copyright and trademark applications. But with the recent publication of her book, "How to Plan a Wedding: A Roadmap to Guide You from Engagement to 'I Do'," her worlds collided when she filed her own copyright application.
